A popular Alnwick band which relaunched earlier in the year will be performing a one-off gig in Alnwick.
Brothers James and Kevin Aitman with Rocky Mattison formed The Northern Lights earlier in the year after being silent on the music scene for a few years.
The trio were long-standing members of former indie band The Tuckers. But they have decided to leave those days behind and rebrand the group, with a new sound and new outlook.
The group became well-known when their music video for their song Same Old Streets, about small town life won Channel 4 Popworld Presents competition with more than 3.5 million votes.
Now, for one night only, the trio are teaming up with the other members Tony and Laurie and will perform a special gig of music from the past and the present.
The group will be performing at The Dirty Bottles Taproom and Smokehouse as part of their new Friday Night Live music sessions.
The first half of the gig will see the group showcase all The Tuckers top tunes including Same Old Street, while the second part of the show will see them perform songs as The Northern Lights, including their new anthem Home From Home.
Their new music video features some stunning shots of the region.
The single will form part of the band’s debut album, Traversal, which is currently being put together, and many of these songs will be showcased on the night.
Producer Rocky said the album is his most creative music project to date as it contains a variety of musical instruments, styles and influences from around the world, from African tribal drums to jazz horns, all while maintaining its own distinctive style.
The group will be performing at The Dirty Bottles in Alnwick tomorrow night at 10pm. The event runs until 1am. For further information, visit www.dirtybottles.co.uk
