A 12-hour, fund-raising musical marathon is being staged in Felton this weekend and open-mic performers are being invited to join in.
The first Feltonbury Musicathon takes place tomorrow, from midday to midnight, in aid of the community allotment and shed project, aka The Plot, on Recreation Lane.
The event will start at The Old Bank, on Main Street, before moving across the road to Gallery 45, where it will finish with a ceilidh in the Long Room.
Neal Skelton said: “This is a good fun and light-hearted event to raise cash for The Plot, which is a garden for the whole community to share the enjoyment of communal gardening.
“There will be music to suit all tastes – sax, folk, choirs, mediaeval instruments, the village band.
“We are looking for people to play their own music and participate in the open-mic slot, but people need to book their slot at The Old Bank or Gallery 45.”
Refreshments will be served throughout the day and listeners are welcome. It is hoped Feltonbury will become an annual event.
To book a slot, call Neal on 01670 787437 or Charlotte on 01670 783343.
