The witty, melodic and be-sequinned world of Shoo Shoo Baby will be making its way to Wingates for a night of festive fun and music.
The double act, who will be putting on a show at the village hall on Thursday, December 4, will perform thanks to Highlights Touring Theatre.
Guests will be treated to fresh new arrangements of well-known Christmas songs such as A Winter Wonderland and tongue in cheek renditions of Santa Baby and I Want You For Christmas (daringly accompanied by the musical saw).
There are also gorgeous unknown vintage gems such as Angie The Christmas Tree Angel.
In true Shoo Shoo style, guests get plenty of opportunity to participate in the ‘giving’ and two very lucky gentlemen will get to round off their night out with that party essential, the ‘slow dance’, with their hostesses.
Shoo Shoo Baby’s touring shows are quirky, energetic and funny.
They include big helpings of fresh, unique arrangements of much-loved classics, flamboyant costumes and water-tight harmonies.
Shoo Shoo Baby quickly developed a big following at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and also have an international following because of their excellent singing and musicianship as well as their ability to put on original shows.
They are now on the road to spread Christmas cheer across rural Northumberland.
Louise Kirkwood, Wingates Village Institute concert promoter, said: “This is an early Christmas treat for all ages, don’t miss it.
“Events like this from our new Highlights programme at Wingates are really helping to draw in fresh audiences to small, isolated village halls such as Wingates.
“We’re really excited to be part of the Highlights Touring Scheme this year.”
