Plans under way for Reivers festival return

A north Northumberland hotel and venue has renamed May Music Mayhem as it prepares to host two music festivals.

Clennel Hall hotel , near Alwinton will be hosting the events on consecutive weekends at the end of the month with more planned for later in the year.

After the success of the inaugural Reivers Rock and Blues Festival last year, the three-day event is back by popular demand from Friday, May 27, to Sunday, May 29.

And it is hoped that this year’s festival will be even better than last year.

Headline acts will be John Verity, Slack Alice, BexMarshall and Rhythm Zoo.

The Bishop FM Stage will feature Struggle Buggy, Bessie’s Blues, King Snake and Yuma to name but a few.

New for 2016, NE Volume will be sponsoring a band on the mainstage, and The Purnells have been added to the bill.

And thanks have been given to Martin Stoneham, of Stoneham Amplification, who will once again be supplying the backline.

The Reivers festival is preceded by the annual Clennell Hall International Folk Festival, which takes place from Friday, May 20, to Sunday, May 22.

Facilities include camping, caravan or Motor Home pitches, unfortunately hook-ups are not available. Limited VIP rooms, at time of publication, are still available for hotel accommodation.
