A popular music concert series continues next month with celebrated pianist Martin Roscoe gracing Alnwick Castle Guest hall.
The accomplished pianist will be joined with his piano trio as he returns for the Alnwick Music Society’s next concert in the 2015/16 series.
In a career spanning four decades, Roscoe is arguably one of the UK’s best loved musicians.
Equally at home as a recitalist, chamber or orchestral concerto performer, he has combined a deeply thought musicianship with an easy rapport with audiences everywhere he has performed.
He has played with all the leading orchestras in the UK in every prestigious concert hall and worked with the eminent conductors of his day.
He is no stranger to the area having performed here many times.
The society is delighted that despite having been to Alnwick many times , he is willing to continue to come amidst all his other commitments.
Roy Todd, from the society said: “His Piano Trio on this occasion is, of necessity, different in composition. Moray Welsh, the distinguished cellist, will be accompanying Martin as usual and will be joined by the violinist Katherine Gowers.”
The trio’s programme is set to be varied with classics like Haydn’s Trio in C and Beethoven’s Trio in B flat, the Archduke Trio. It will also include pieces like Smetana’s Trio in G minor.
The concert takes place on Wednesday, November 11, in the Alnwick Castle Guest Hall at 7.30pm.
Non-members are welcome to attend and you can get tickets from the Alnwick Playhouse box office on 01665 510785. Tickets are £16, £15 conc and students free.
