A variety show which wowed a north Northumberland village earlier this year is returning in September for a bigger performance.
In April, Newcastle-based contortionist and magician Chris Cross brought variety back to the North East with a packed-out show.
More than 100 people turned out for Northumberland Village Varieties in Warkworth.
A great night was had with guests from Tyneway Trading, Phaze Clothing, The Alnwick Garden, Radio Northumberland and others all commenting on how much fun they had via Twitter.
Now, it has been revealed that it’s Alnwick’s turn next as Chris brings his Northumberland Village Varieties live show to the Northumberland Hall on Friday, September 6.
And following the success of the last show, the capacity has been boosted with space for 400 people at the Alnwick event.
Chris promises guests an evening of razzle, dazzle and excitement featuring the finest circus, cabaret, comedy and musical performers from around the North East.
There will be performances of magnificent magic and illusion, stand-up comedy at its best, live locally-picked music, daring stunts of escapology and contortion, a world-renowned unicyclist juggler, a hat-manipulation expert and many more acts to be announced nearer the date.
A bar will be available selling drinks and snacks including ales from Wylam Brewery along with a range of lager, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
Advance tickets are £6 and can be purchased online by emailing Chris at firstname.lastname@example.org or visiting www.chris-cross.co.uk
In the future, some local shops will have a selection of tickets on sale for £7 while there will also be a limited amount of tickets available on the night on the door priced at £8.
Chris also explained that ideally the dress code on the night is ‘dress to impress’, eg. Guys & Dolls, burlesque, cabaret, suits and ties, ringmaster and showgirl, evening gowns, etc, but smart/casual attire is accepted. No tracksuit bottoms/sports apparel.
