A hard-working touring musician based in Northumberland is returning to his home county to play a Christmas show in Seahouses on Saturday.
Professional since 2003, singer-songwriter Gareth Davies-Jones has demonstrated an honesty, depth and passion with his beautifully-arranged, evocative and challenging songs.
Recognised by commentators as an established talent in the Troubadour tradition, Gareth is a seasoned and busy performer. His music has been featured on BBC national and local radio, with Radio 2’s Bob Harris a particular fan. He has recorded and played with some of the big names in the industry in recent years.
Originally from County Down, Gareth now lives in Northumberland.
The concert is the latest of the monthly house-concert gigs which are taking place at St Cuthbert’s House, a converted former church in Seahouses.
Owners Jeff and Jill Sutheran are delighted to be bringing world-class professional performers to the rural area.
“We’ve had some great nights and some really special occasions here since we started the house-concerts earlier this year,” said Jeff. “The beautiful venue gives a small audience a great opportunity to get very close to these wonderful musicians.
“We’re really pleased to have Gareth play here, and especially since he’s bringing something of a Christmas theme at this special time of year.”
Tickets for the gig cost £10 and are available by calling 01665 720456.
