An international music duo will be performing at the latest Rothbury Roots gig tonight, (Thursday).
American Cathryn Craig and Northern Irish Brian Willoughby will be playing at The Queen’s Head at 8pm.
Cathryn’s Nashville rooted story-telling songwriting is brought to life when she sings, and Brian’s virtuoso guitar provides a solid foundation, but also an intricate decoration.
Cathryn began her career singing with Righteous Brother Bill Medley.
Brian was Mary Hopkin’s guitarist, before spending 26 years with Strawbs.
Craig and Willoughby’s songs reflect a compelling blend of musical roots, from the stone walls of Ireland to the depth of the American south.
Both have played with a huge range of artists over the years and they use their musical experience to bring to the audience an entertaining partnership.
Doors open at 7.30pm.
