A WOP ba-ba lu-mop, A wop bam boom!

Back on stage and in the limelight once again, the talented pupils of Duchess’s Community High School in Alnwick take over all areas of the Playhouse to perform one of the most popular musicals of all time.

On the back of the success of their performance of We Will Rock You! and the Flint Street Nativity in 2011, the budding actors from Alnwick’s high school take on another iconic musical.

The 50s-set story of young love, fast cars, slick styling, leather jackets, rock ’n’ roll and high school angst is just as popular now as it was when first performed on stage in the early 1970s.

The love story of Danny and Sandy, portrayed on the silver screen by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, is timeless and now a new generation of T-Birds and Pink Ladies will transport you back to Rydell High School in 1959.

With hit songs such as You’re The One That I Want, Grease Is The Word, Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted to You, Sandy, Greased Lightnin’, We Go Together and many more as well as toe-tapping dance routines, it promises a feel-good evening of musical theatre.

Tickets have sold fast and the performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday are almost completely sold out so hurry if you want to join Kenickie, Rizzo, Frenchie, Doody and the rest of the gang.
