A North East band are offering an evening of musical nostalgia from almost a century ago in aid of a good cause.
Horace Silverman and the White Gardenias will be treating a Northumbrian audience to a variety of music from the 1920s and 1930s at a concert next week.
The six-piece band will be presenting a variety of music from the swing era, including songs by Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Hoagy Carmichael and Cole Porter.
The concert, being held at Alnwick Masonic Lodge on Friday, October 30, will be in aid of HospiceCare North Northumberland.
Lodge chairman Jim Thompson said: “We are delighted to host this musical evening for a very worthy local charity.
“Please come and join us for this fabulous evening and help raise funds for our local hospice.” Tickets are £15 each, including canapes and a glass of fizzy wine.
