Busking marathon hailed a success

A 24-hour buskathon run by Acoustic Magic earlier this month has been hailed as a big success, raising £819 for Diabtetes UK.

Organised by Derek and Melanie Allan, as well as Sam Gibson, more than 100 people turned up for the event and 21 separate players turned up to play, performing around one to six songs each

Derek said: “The Acoustic Magic team is a great team and we work well together for everyone, we make it all fun.”

Raffle prizes were kindly donated by: Guitar Guitar, Rotosound Guitar Strings, Naked Nun beauticians, Alnwick Castle and Garden, Namco Bowling at the MetroCentre, Durham Cricket and Kirkley Hall zoo. Tesco helped by providing musicians with fruit and bottled water.
