Luxury antiques fair back by demand

A luxury antiques weekend returns to Macdonald Linden Hall Hotel by popular demand.

The Longhorsley venue hosts the boutique-style event from Friday, March 7, to Sunday, March 9.

Organised by The Antiques Dealers Fair Limited, it offers visitors the opportunity to source quality objects and fine art from specialist dealers.

There will be a variety of items for sale, including period furniture, traditional and contemporary paintings, antique and designer jewellery, 19th and 20th century sculpture, oriental carpets, antiquarian books, ancient Roman and Greek artefacts, silver and many decorative objects. Some of the stand-out items include a Victorian jewellery/dressing box commissioned by the Earl of Hardwicke as a gift in 1869, priced £5,250.

Other objects to catch the eye include a silver-mounted claret jug from the 19th century for £1,750, a Regency gilt wood convex mirror for £1,200 and a Victorian acacia wood collector’s cabinet for £2,950.

The event is in aid of St Oswald’s Hospice and is open from 11am to 6pm on Friday, 10.30am to 6pm on Saturday and 10.30am to 5pm on Sunday.
