Residents wanting to compete in the Bamburgh Village Show, which marks its 80th birthday this year, are being urged to start their preparations.

Event organisers distribute buckets, potatoes and sunflower seeds for competitors to enter the heaviest crop of potatoes in a bucket and heaviest sunflower head competitions on the show day.

Those who would like to take part can collect a free bucket, potato and sunflower seeds at the Bamburgh Village Coffee Stop on Tuesday between 11am and noon.

This year’s show is being staged on Saturday, September 12.
