More than £11,000 has been raised from a series of open garden events, with one still to go this year.
The events, in aid of HospiceCare North Northumberland, have seen the stunning gardens at Glanton Pyke, Mindrum House, Blagdon Hall and Shawdon Hall open to the public for an entry fee.
And this weekend, it’s Lilburn Towers’ turn. It will be open on Sunday, from 1pm to 5pm. Entry is £4 and children under 16 are free. Dogs are welcome on leads. Lilburn stands above the River Till and boasts 30 acres of woodland to wander in.
This year a competition has also been run for photographers to capture the essence of the gardens. Pictures will go on display in an exhibition at the Bailiffgate Museum, Alnwick, in October.
