A gala performance of The Magic Flute is being performed at The Alnwick Garden, in aid of the British Red Cross.

The special event is being staged at the renowned venue’s atrium on Friday.

The Magic Flute, which will be performed by The Pavilion Opera, is an opera in two acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to a German libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder.

The work is in the form of a singspiel, a popular form that included both singing and spoken dialogue.

Showgoers will arrive to a Champagne reception at 6.30pm before seating for the spectacular performance at 7.30pm. This will be followed by dinner, raffle and auction. Carriages are at 11.30pm.

Tickets are priced £145 and are available by calling Margaret Musgrave on 0191 273 7961 or 07843 346159. Alternatively, send her an email at mmusgrave@redcross.org.uk
