Talented musicians from Alnwick’s Duchess’s Community High School will be performing at two events this month.
The ceilidh band will appear at a Burns night family ceilidh, before the woodwind ensemble will play at a charity concert.
The ceilidh is being staged at Alnwick’s Lindisfarne Middle School on Friday, January 23, from 7pm to 9pm.
The Duchess’s High School group will be joined by Lindisfarne Middle School’s ceilidh band.
Tickets are £5, £2.50 children and £12.50 family (two adults/two children) and are available by calling 01665 602534.
Entry includes light refreshments, as well as broth and bread bun. Alcohol will not be sold, so bring your own.
Then, the High School’s woodwind ensemble will perform at a charity concert organised by the Rotary Club of Alnwick.
It takes place in the town’s St James’ Church, on Pottergate, on Wednesday, January 28, from 7.30pm.
The event will feature two eminent local violinists, who go by the name of Duo Concertante, and music will range from popular to classical.
Tickets are £10, students £5, and are available from G Penrose & Son, on Bondgate Within, or by calling Jill Clark on 01665 602189.
Refreshments will be available. Proceeds go to local charities and organisations.
