A free guided walk to discover Holy Island’s once-thriving, but mostly forgotten, industrial heritage is taking place at Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve later this month.
Join local historian and volunteer warden, John Woodhurst, on Sunday, July 20, to explore some of Holy Island’s less well-known historic sites.
The walk – The Lost Buildings of Lindisfarne – takes place from 1.30pm to 4pm. Meet at Holy Island main car park (a car-parking charge is applicable).
Walkers should wear suitable footwear and be prepared for all weather.
Bring a drink/snack. Children must be accompanied and dogs on short leads are welcome.
Booking is essential, as places are limited. Call 01289 381470.
