You now have more time to vote for your favourite Northumberland castle, which is part of the new Northeast Press series, Northumberland’s Top 10...
Due to the popularity of the series, the deadline has been extended on all three votes so far – castles, beaches and views, before we launch the fourth topic, gardens. You now have until the end of April to register your vote.
The county is renowned for its iconic fortresses and there are plenty of them – but which is your most-loved? Do you enjoy visiting one above all others? Is it the view that has captured your heart or do you enjoy exploring inside?
Let us know your opinions through social media (Facebook and Twitter) and we’ll include some of your comments in the paper.
We have drawn up a shortlist of 15 castles from which we are asking you to select your favourite. See them on the accompanying slideshow.
And voting couldn’t be easier – follow the link below and simply click on the box next to your top castle.
This is part of a major new series to compile Northumberland’s Top 10 in a number of categories.
The county has many amazing attractions and must-see places and the Northumberland Gazette, Berwick Advertiser, Morpeth Herald and News Post Leader aims to gauge opinions on its highlights and discover which ones are the most popular.
We will present new subjects until the end of the year and ask you to vote for your favourite. Castles is just the start!
In the coming weeks, we will be asking you to vote on your best Northumberland bridge, walk, picnic spot, beer garden, architecture, tourist attraction and so on. Send us your suggestions and pictures for the shortlists either by email email@example.com, Twitter (@alnwickgazette), Facebook, facebook.com/nlandgazette or upload them directly through this website.
At the end of 2015, we will publish the complete guide to Northumberland’s Top 10.
