A hard-working touring musician will be playing a fund-raising show with a Christmas theme in Seahouses.
Gareth Davies-Jones, who is an Irish-born Northumberland resident, performs evocative music which is beautifully arranged.
His songs combine folk, Americana, roots and acoustic traditions to demonstrate an honesty, depth and passion, often laced with social and political observations.
Gareth has built links with a number of charities over the years as part of his professional touring and all the money raised from this upcoming gig will go towards The Ark, a day centre which is the only facility of its kind for children with disabilities in northern Uganda.
He will be playing a mix of music from his many albums, including his Nine Lessons Christmas show.
His gig takes place at St Cuthbert’s House – an award-winning bed and breakfast – on Saturday, December 13. Doors and bar opens at 7pm, with music from 7.30pm.
Host Jeff Sutheran said: “We’re really looking forward to Gareth’s gig. Christmas can so easily become a time of rushing and madness, but he’s giving us an opportunity to slow down and reflect and to give a special present to these children in Uganda, simply by having a great night out.”
