Be a scoundrel for one night only

Ever fancied some VIP treatment at one of the North East’s top theatres? Well here’s your chance.

We’ve teamed up with Sunderland Empire to give away a truly indulgent night at the theatre next month.

One lucky reader will win a pair of tickets to Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and entry to the Empire’s Ambassador Lounge on Tuesday, June 9.

Audiences will be transported to the luxurious French Riviera when the West End spectacular graces the Sunderland stage.

The decadent world of sophisticated conman Lawrence Jameson (Michael Praed) is set to come crashing down with the arrival of larger-than-life Freddy Benson (Noel Sullivan) – a conman of an entirely different order.

With the North East’s Mark Benton as the hilarious Andre, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels has been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike.

Soon realising the town ain’t big enough for the both of them, Lawrence and Freddy find themselves going head-to-head in the con of their lives, pulling out all the stops in a bid for the affections of millionaire soap heiress Christine Colgate (Carley Stenson).  Little do they know what they’ve let themselves in for.

To be in with a chance of winning the VIP tickets, simply grab a copy of this week’s Northumberland Gazette (dated May 28, 2015) and answer the following question:

Where is Dirty Rotten Scoundrels set?

Fill in the entry form and send it to Scoundrels Compettition, Northumberland Gazette, 32 Bondgate Without, Alnwick, Northumberland NE66 1PN.

The first correct entry drawn after the closing date of Friday, June 5, will win the tickets.
