Sunday, May 6: Northern Sinfonia with Christian Vasquez conducting – streamed live from the Sage Gateshead to the Playhouse. 7.30pm. Tickets £5.

Tuesday, May 8: An Evening with Gervase Phinn – dubbed the ‘James Herriott of schools’, Gervase will share his funny and, at times, poignant tales of life as a schools inspector in the Yorkshire Dales. 7.30pm. Tickets £16.50, £17.50 premier.
