Tale of Paradise Lost through dance show

Award-winning Lost Dog Dance brings its beautifully crafted piece of dance theatre to Amble Parish Hall next weekend.

Inspired by Milton’s epic poem Paradise Lost, this one-man staging combines theatre, comedy and movement to tell the story of the creation of everything, condensed into 80 minutes, on Sunday, May 14.

This striking and inventive show brings the highlights of the well known, but often forgotten story, beginning with Lucifer’s rebellion and ending with Adam and Eve’s expulsion from the Garden of Eden.

It is a show for anyone who has ever created anything – a child, garden, paper aeroplane – then had to watch it spiral out of control.

Performer and artistic director Ben Duke has created an elegant, comic and touching show that reviewers have said “achieves great things with economy of means”. He plays all the characters, creates all the scenes and, despite his best efforts, falls a little short of perfection.

Ben is performing through Highlghts Rural Touring Scheme as part of a national Rural Touring Dance Initiative to bring top quality performances out of theatres and into village halls

The show take place at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £8, £7 concs, £5 child, available on 01665 710289 or online at www.highlightsnorth.co.uk
