Held at Alnwick’s Duchess’s Community High School, the event was a sell-out and a huge success.

Entertainment was provided by the cast and band of the school’s musical, We Will Rock You, which got the event off to a flying start.

And with models including the hospice’s own nurses and their families taking part, it was a triumph.

M&Co and Dorothy Perkins took to the runway alongside home-grown business Hotspur 1364 and Boutique Ravello. Capella hair salon also showcased some of the wigs it offers, as well as doing hair and make-up for the event. And Just Harry Designs from Alnmouth was also on the catwalk.

The night was sponsored by Specsavers, meaning all profits go to the charity, and it raised £3,307 – the highest total recorded.

Cath Millar, one of the hospice at home nursing team, was one of the models. She said: “It was really lovely to see a cross-section of our community come together on the catwalk, and make it such a fun evening. The audience created such a brilliant atmosphere.

“The fantastic amount raised means that we can provide 132 hours of specialist Hospice at Home nursing care to people living in local communities.”
