When the Walking Dead opens up with a calm, collected intro, you know things won't be staying that way.
Splitting into two small storylines, as told in the info for the episode, Twice As Far follows Abraham and Eugene; as well as Daryl, Rosita, and Doc Denise.
Abe and Eugene, now seemingly more of a survivor with a different hairstyle and even more hilarious, but now firm, quotes, make their way to some sort of abandoned factory
It is here where Eugene claims he will be able to manufacture bullets; now pretty much the currency in the apocalyptic world, and things that will certainly be useful in the upcoming war against Negan.
It's nice to see Eugene coming into a well developed character, and also to see him stepping up to fill his comic book role. Him and Abraham have also some jibes at each other, mainly over killing one single walker.
This was one thing that was the cause of some frustration through the episode; though this was more on Doc Denise''s part. She kept trying to 'prove' herself, arguing with Daryl and Rosita and hunting out trapped walkers to supposedly put them out of their misery. I know The Walking Dead has received minor slander over people doing stupid things before, but this is the first time it really shows.
Some awesome confrontation also took place, with Dwight, the man we met back in episode Always Accountable, making a return. He now has half his face burned customary to the comics, and makes an attack on Daryl's group. If you were wanting a shocking death this episode, Dwight makes sure it happens!
With only two episodes left, things are wrapping themselves up nicely for Negan's arrival; though it seems next week's episode is about Carol leaving Alexandria. Why did she do this? I have no idea. Quite a poorly-timed event to be getting into right now, but this looks as if it will be interesting.
Twice As Far showed more character development, action and some humour, and was a great episode all round.
