An inaugural flower festival has been hailed a huge success.
St Mary’s Church in Lesbury held its first flower festival over the May bank holiday weekend, together with a celebratory Songs of Praise on the Sunday evening.
The theme for the occasion was Jewels, with all proceeds going towards the restoration of the East window.
The festival was organised by Ann Turnbull, aided by other members of the church, friends and members of Alnwick Flower club.
It opened with a preview evening on Friday, April 28, where guests enjoyed the beautiful and colourful displays throughout the church.
The proceedings were opened by Lindsay Tanner, wife of the Suffragan Bishop of Berwick, and the background of organ music was played by Sylvia Fancy.
Thanks have been given to sponsors for providing the flowers, to the arrangers, the support team and all who visited.
