Everyone who helps to make both the Simonside Hay Show and the Country Fair a success are volunteers. This means that all the money made, once bills are paid, can be donated.

The show committee met representatives of the Coquetdale community-based initiatives who had requested a donation, and in return for a cheque and a handshake people were treated to a glimpse of the visions these people are working to achieve.

This year saw money given to a wide range of exciting causes including a climbing wall for a school, helping local wildlife and pets, producing local films, building a skate and bike park, connecting the valley through a pioneering screen network, and more.
