A maritime artist is to sell his painting – and prints of it – in aid of the Blyth Tall Ship charity with an exhibition that starts this weekend.
Edwin Blackburn was inspired to support the charity by donating the proceeds of the sale of the original painting, depicting The Williams II approaching Blyth harbour, and an amount per print to support its work.
The Williams is the host Tall Ship for the Tall Ship Regatta from Blyth taking place this month.
Edwin said: “Being a maritime artist and working from my studio in my home town Blyth, I’m proud to be involved and help the charity in my own small way.”
The original painting will be on sale at the exhibition, Tall Ships and the Northumberland Coast, at The Blagdon Gallery, Milkhope Centre, starting Sunday and running for a month. Signed limited edition prints are available from the Blyth Tall Ship Organisation.
