A new exhibition has launched at a north Northumberland gallery this week.

The North of England Art Club is hosting the event at the Bondgate gallery at Alnwick Playhouse.

It opened on Tuesday and runs until Saturday, July 2.

The exhibition will be featuring unique works of art.

Northumbrian Scenes is an exhibition of original paintings and drawings by members of the North of England Art Club, painted specially for the Bondgate Gallery.

Artists were invited to be imaginative in their interpretation of the exhibition theme, so the predictable castles and landscapes may be joined by other more intriguing images.

The works are all 20cm by 20cm and very affordable, and could make the the perfect present or souvenir.

The North of England Art Club incorporates the Newcastle Society of Artists and has a history that dates back to 1835. The club has studios at the Newcastle Arts Centre and around 60 enthusiastic and talented members.

The exhibition will be on show during Playhouse openeing hours.
