Saturday, March 3: Northern Sinfonietta Concert – The Alnwick-based orchestra returns for a spring concert featuring Bradley Creswick, leader of the Northern Sinfonia, playing The Lark Ascending by Vaughan Williams. 7.30pm. Tickets £9, £10 premier.

Wednesday, March 7: Angel – Theatre Hullabaloo present a story of unexpected friendship between an old woman and the girl in the red jumper. 10.30am and 7pm. Tickets £6, child/student £5.

Thursday, March 8: International Guitar Festival – Three of the world’s finest guitarists – Brian Cove, from San Francisco, German Lulo Reinhardt and homegrown Adrian Legg – play together. 7.30pm. Tickets £12, £13 premier. £10 child/student.


Tuesday, March 6: Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (12a; 129mins) – Adventure sequel.
