The village of Rock will be welcoming visitors to find out more about its history this weekend.
Rock can trace its roots back to Norman times, when William de Rok was granted the land after the Norman Conquest. Visitors will be made welcome this Sunday, from 1pm to 5pm for an event in aid of the church. They can learn about the history of Rock Hall and its connection to the Pitmen Painters. Visitors will be given a map showing a short walking route marked with places of particular interest, and there will be expert guides to the village. Entrance to the church is £2 for adults and £1 for children.
