Two global celebrities have spent 'two blustery, fab days' in Alnwick, posting about their visit on social media.
Famous actress and Estée Lauder model Elizabeth Hurley tweeted about her trip to Northumberland with Czech model Eva Herzigova yesterday afternoon.
She posted a picture of themselves in front of the fireplace in the library at Alnwick Castle on her account @ElizabethHurley, and said: "With the gorgeous @EvaHerzigova at Alnwick Castle. Two blustery, fab days. Now in a hot bath with a stiff drink."
The same fireplace featured in a scene during last Christmas Day's episode of Downton Abbey.
The post has so far received 26 retweets and 192 likes and several people responded, including @AlnwickNLand who said: Hope you had a lovely time! X
Heather Baxter (@MarketingGeni) told the pair: you should have gone to @BariTea for a nice cuppa :)
The Yellow Taxi (@TheYellowTaxi) posted: You were born in the same town as me, now I live in Alnwick, you visit here - yet you don't say "Hello"! #disappointed
Marilyn & Melrose (@MarilynMelrose), the interiors shop in Narrowgate tweeted: are you going to venture into the town? You'd be very welcome and we may even find some fizz for you
Malcolm Hogg (@lordofhoggmont) added the message: I'm not far from there, you could've called in!
The castle is currently closed to members of the public for the winter.
