THIS weekend sees the welcome return of the annual vintage rally at Old Brunton Airfield, Christon Bank, organised by the Northumberland Vintage Tractor Club.
The event, which has been running for 35 years, will see about 400 vintage exhibits gathered with the oldest from the 1860s and the newest being a replica Foster steam engine in steam and full working order built about five years ago.
It is open Saturday and Sunday from 10am.
Northumberland Vintage Tractor Club try to present all aspects of the vintage vehicle rally scene with not only tractors and the machinery that was used in years gone by, but also the cars, vans, trucks and motorbikes from the dark and distant past, all very different from the vehicles that we use today.
The club has always been a supporter of Help for Heroes and last year they helped raise over £800.
This year, the Borders Vintage Automobile Club is going to display a restored 1971 MGB GT that they are going to raffle at their rally next June for the charity. Tickets are £1.
Camping for exhibitors from Friday night is free and for members of the public with a charge. Contact 05602 917113.
