A clinical bowling performance saw Alnwick lift themselves from the foot of the table after a five wicket win over Greenside at Weavers Way.
The new opening bowling partnership of Will Smith (1-13) and Max Harrison (1-10) both made early breakthroughs to leave Greenside at 10-2.
The visitors moved to 30 before Michael Kirkup removed the dangerous Reed for 10 and a run out from Daniel Graham left Greenside teetering at 44-4.
It was then the spin duo of captain Andrew Scott (4-27) and David Wright (2-17) who removed the remaining batsman to leave Greenside all out for 94.
Following a nervy start to the reply, which saw Alnwick reduced to 51-5, it was left to the sure heads of overseas star David Forrest and in form Robbie Green, who both finished on 26 not out, to guide Alnwick to victory.
