The Travellers hosted Alnwick Working Men’s Club Bar, with the points shared in the singles. The Travellers won both pairs, the Club took the teams, but the Travellers won the match 4-3.
The Market Tavern B got off to a great start against AWMC B, winning the first three singles, which included a 136 checkout from The Market’s Stu Knowles.
The Club’s Davey Laidler won the last of the singles, recording a 180 in his match, with a point each in the pairs.
The Club took the teams to leave a final score of AWMC B 3 Market Tavern B 4.
It was a close match between the Alnwick Arms A and the Alnwick Gate. With the points shared in the singles and pairs, it came to a team-game decider which went the way of the Arms, despite a 180 from the Gate’s Billy Friar. The final score was Alnwick Arms 4Alnwick Gate 3.
AWMC Veterans stormed to the top of Division B after a 7-0 thrashing of the Alnwick Arms B, with Tony (The Mint) Murray of the Vets recording a 180 on the way.
In another close match between Alnwick Golf Club and AWMC A, it was 3-3 after the singles and pairs. But the golfers took the team game to win the match 4-3.
The Farriers won all four singles against the Market Tavern, points were shared in the pairs, but the Farriers won the team games and the match 6-1.
The Oddies A took a 3-1 lead after the singles against Shilbottle Club B. The Club came back and won both pairs, but it was the Oddies who came out on top, winning the teams and the match 4-3.
