Today’s highlights at the Olympics: Friday, August 10

These are some of the events to look out for today at London 2012.

The eyes of north Northumberland will, without a doubt, be on the women’s 1500m final at 8.55pm as Lesbury 21-year-old Laura Weightman hopes for a great end to her debut Olympics. She is joined by compatriot Lisa Dobriskey.

Two of Britain’s golds yesterday came in the boxing and the taekwondo, and there are further hopes today.

Sarah Stevenson and Lutalo Muhammad both start their campaigns later this morning and the finals take place this evening at 10.15pm.

In the boxing, four of the men are guaranteed at least bronzes after making the semi-finals but they will be looking for a guaranteed silver by making the finals.

They are: Luke Campbell (2pm), Anthony Ogogo (3pm), Fred Evans (9.30pm) and Anthony Joshua (10.30pm).

The 470 men’s pair in the sailing were due to sail yesterday, with silver guaranteed, but there wasn’t enough wind. The men’s and the women’s races will now both take place today – GB’s Saskia Clark and Hannah Mills are in joint top spot overnight.

Finally, Tom Daley gets another chance to go for gold as the individual competition in the 10m platform diving gets underway from 7pm.
