T20 TOURNAMENT

THE third and final round of matches in the Surridge Sports-sponsored T20 survived the worst of the weather on Saturday with the group winners, plus the best-placed second team, going through to Finals Day at Wooler this Sunday.

The first semi-final will see Mitford Marauders up against Wooler Wizards, starting at 11am, followed by Berwick Bushwackers against Tillside Tomahawks at 2pm, followed later in the afternoon by the final.

Mitford and Berwick both won all their three matches while Tillside and Wooler qualified on run rate.

INTER-LEAGUE OVER 40S

With the match at an exciting stage, rain led to the abandonment of Sunday’s contest between the Johnnie Johnson Housing Alnwick and District League Over 40s and their West Tyne League counterparts at Warkworth.

At the time, the ADL were 157-3 in reply to the visitors 242-5 with Warenford’s Brian Thompson in full flow on 65 not out, which included seven sixes and three fours.
