A young swimmer has been causing a massive splash in the pool, by wowing coaches with her progress.
Red Row First School pupil Kiera Common, eight, has just been awarded her 800metre swimming badge.
According to her instructors at Ashington Leisure Centre, achieving the honour is a rare occurrence for such a young student.
Talented Kiera has surpassed the National Curriculum requirement of 25metres by the end of Key Stage 2.
She is attentive in all her lessons and always tries very hard. The youngster is competent in all four strokes.
Red Row First School’s deputy headteacher Dave Vero passed on his congratulations to Kiera and added: “Could she be the future Rebecca Adlington?”
Pupils from the school have swimming lessons at the Ashington facility each week.
