Sweet scent of success at school

THE Duchess’s Community High School First XV is enjoying its best season for a number of years.

The team has only lost one game this season (to high flying RGS Newcastle).

Currently, they are through to round seven of the prestigious Daily Mail Vase competition after good wins against Kenton, Richmond, KEVI Morpeth, Kings Tynemouth and, most recently, Scarborough College. They are now through to the last 32 in the country and face a journey to Stockport Grammar School in the Northern region final.

The team’s success has been built around teamwork, strong defence and a never-say die attitude.

They also top the North-umberland 10-a-side league with six wins out of six games.
