WELL done to the three Alnwick Harriers who took part in the London Marathon on Sunday, April 22.
There was a superb run from Andy Squires, as well as good solid runs from Mel Steer and Anne Allan.
Results: 4143-Andy Squires 3.27.38; 12223-Mel Steer 4.05.05; 14830-Anne Allan 4.15.43.
Meanwhile a much lower key race was taking place back in the north east, the Wallsend Harriers organised Terry O’Gara Memorial 5k. Mark Doctor was the sole Harrier taking part finishing 86th, of 198 runners in 21.00.
Four Harriers took part in the Newcastle Parkrun on Saturday, April 21, including Jim Lillico who won the male 50 category.
Results: 25-Jim Lillico 19.35; 160-Ruth Doctor 24.58; 178-Charlotte Baston 25.32; 183-Clare Hiscock 25.47.
That same day the Eastoe’s took part in the St Georges Day 10k in Great Langdale, Cumbria.
Well done to Gay who won the female 55 category.
Results: 96-Gay Eastoe 56.55; 97-Richard Eastoe 56.55.
While visiting family in Herefordshire Jo Gascoigne-Owens and Stuart Morris took part in a six-mile hilly trail race, the Shobdon Wood 6, organised by Croft Ambrey Running Club. The highlights were the post-race doughnuts and Jo finishing 16th overall and second female of the 118 runners.
Results: 16 Jo Gascoigne-Owens 41.59; 32 Stuart Morris 45.08.
