Straker hits 134 in win for Alnmouth cricketers

A fine knock of 134 from Paul Straker helped Alnmouth & Lesbury 1sts to a 142 run away win over Consett 1sts in Division 1 of the NTCL.

Dushan Hemantha also hit 44 as Alnmouth posted 264-7 with Stuart Graham taking 4-27. Consett were all out for 122 in reply with John McCabe top scoring on 34, Hemantha taking 6-16.

Alnwick 1sts lost by 110 runs away to Leadgate 1sts in Division 2. Harry Lovell hit 94 and Paul Hockaday 74 as Leadgate put on 220 with three wickets each for Jamie Guy and Jonny Roxburgh. Guy hit 60 for Alnwick who were all out for 110 with Graham Huber and Luke McCabe each taking four wickets.

Tillside 1sts won by ten wickets at home to Blyth 1sts. Blyth were all out for only 60 with Tillside 61 without loss.

Alnmouth & Lesbury 2nds won by two wickets at home to GEMs in Division 3. Omer Hussain hit 46 as GEMs put on 192-8, Simon Poole taking four wickets. Lukas Robinson hit 48 for Alnmouth in their 193-8.

Warkworth 1sts won by 198 runs at home to Cramlington 1sts. Kamran Mansoor hit 86, Matthew Potts 79 and Doug Potts 71 as Warkworth posted a big score of 302 all out, with Joseph Ingram taking five wickets. Cramlington were all out for 104 with Adam Hall taking 5-25.

Alnwick 2nds won by three wickets at home to Blagdon 1sts in Division 5. Michael Brewis hit 34 as Alnwick made 128-7, Jonathan Lillico taking 4-8. Blagdon managed 97 in reply with three wickets each for Matthew Straker and Matthew Dixon.

Warenford lost by 36 runs away to Kirkley 1sts. Kirkley were 198 all out with Michael Thompson taking 4-24. Waren made 162-6 in reply.

Tillside 2nds won by six wickets away to Monkseaton 1sts. Monkseaton were all out for 127 with Mark Dawson taking 5-18. Joe Bickerton was 67 not out as Tillside were 129-4 in reply.

Rock won by nine wickets at home to Berwick 2nds in Division 6. Berwick were 101 all out with Michael Beveridge on 31, Kevin Wilson taking 4-15. George Cockayne was 57 not out as Rock replied with 102-1.

Embleton won by two wickets at home to Warkworth 2nds. Warkworth were 136 all out with Jamie Pringle on 36, whilst Hedley Grey hit 35 in Embleton’s reply of 114-8.
