Stableford escapes the worst of the weather

Percy Wood escaped the worst of the weather on Saturday when the club hosted the North Northumberland League Open Day Stableford, although the last few groups had the misfortune to encounter heavy rain.

Steve Barron, from the Alnwick Castle Club, posted the best individual gross score of 32 points while no fewer than three players shared top spot on 38 points in the nett section and a further three were just a point back.

The course was in tip-top condition, 70 players took part and the CSS was 73.
