Alnwick II ... 7 Tynedale ... 0
ALNWICK took down Tynedale at the weekend with a 7-0 victory.
Tynedale put 13 goals past their opponents the week before so Alnwick were expecting a hard match.
The home team got off to a good start with a centre push-back which allowed them to keep the game in the attacking end for most of the first half. Graham made a cross from outside the D to Broom who pushed it passed the keeper.
It wasn’t long until the game was back in the D and Alnwick were awarded with a penalty corner, this was the first goal of four from Dawson, who took a straight strike and put it in the bottom corner.
Alnwick’s play in the middle from Dawson, Young and Fairbairn left Graham free to take a run up the pitch and put the ball round the keeper.
Half-time showed Tynedale come back stronger, and with good play from the defence trio of Nixon, Roberts and Reed saw Alnwick take the ball back up the pitch once more.
This time the penalty corner came to Nixon who put Alnwck further ahead once more.
With Dawson on top form, it left Alnwick with a good goal tally of seven against the other side.
Next week is Alnwick’s third match of the season where they meet Jesmond Parish Church away.
Alnwick: L Brown, E Straker, T Graham, J Broom, S Fairbairn, S Dawson, E Young, H Gregory, C Reed, C Nixon, S Roberts, J Fornear.
