Rothbury close gap at the top

North Northumberland Junior Golf League

WEEK six of the junior golf league has seen Rothbury stake a claim in the chase for the title by closing the gap on Goswick to just two points.

Both teams had fine away wins, with Goswick beating Alnmouth (Foxton) and Rothbury beating Percy Wood.

Last year’s champions Linden Hall managed a home win against Warkworth and all three teams have opened a gap between themselves and the rest of the teams in the league.

Meanwhile, in the other match, the points were shared between Magdalene Fields and Bamburgh with Seahouses and Alnwick having a free week.

In the Knockout Cup, Linden Hall beat Bamburgh and now face Goswick away in the semi-final.
