Talented teenage boxer Jessica Pattinson has started her quest to win the School Girls’ National Championships.
The 13-year-old fighter from Alnwick Amateur Boxing Club headed to Darlington on Saturday for the competition’s first round.
No other girl was entered into the Tyne Tees & Wear 43kg to 44.5kg section, so she was automatically crowned regional champion.
It is expected that she will also bypass the pre-quarter-final stage and enter the ring at the quarter-finals in Wakefield later this month.
Her preparation for the championships has gone well.
She put in a spirited display against Chantel Whiting at the Alnwick club’s home show in April, on the back of landing her first technical knockout (TKO) victory in March.
