Sisters crowned county athletics champions
Alnwick sisters Talia and Leila Thompson competed in the Northumberland and Durham County Championships at Gateshead on Saturday, both representing Northumberland.
And the pair had every reason to celebrate after both landing county titles in the shot.
Talia in the U17 shot completed a fine set of throws to become county champion with a distance of 11.53m . And her sister Leila also had another fantastic competition to win the U15 shot to also become county champion with a throw of 11.61m, breaking the county record from 1988.
