Hamish rides tall with sprint title

Morpeth’s Hamish Turnbull is the youngest rider in history to claim the Senior Elite National Track Sprint title, previously held by multiple Olympic gold medalists Sir Chris Hoy and Jason Kenny.

The 20 year-old Hamish, as a youth, was one of the countries most successful road & track cyclist and the youngest to gain a position on the Great Britain Cycling Team at the age of 14. As a school pupil at KEVI he represented GB at World & European Championships gaining medals against the world best. Hamish became the youngest National Sprint Champion, claiming titles and National records in all Sprint disciplines and to date he has set five National records.
