GB climb spot for Fred
Fred Williams (12) from Alnwick has been selected to join the sport climbing GB National Development Squad for the second year running.
In November he competed in Sheffield at a gruelling two day event designed to select the best young climbers in the country. Fred proved he was consistent across all three climbing disciplines achieving 2nd place in lead (roped) climbing, 4th in bouldering and 4th in speed which gave him a combined result of 2nd. The British Mountaineering Council have confirmed that this is good enough to gain him a place on the 2020 GB Development Squad.
Fred said, “I’m really pleased to be on the GB Squad again. I can’t wait for the season to start.”
