Chirnside brothers from Berwick Bu Bujin Karate Club to represent Scotland at European championships

Two karate-loving brothers from Chirnside have been selected to represent Scotland at next month’s European Wado Karate Championships.

Fifteen-year-old Finlay Blair and his brother Jamie, 14, train at the Berwick Bu Bujin Karate Club and will represent Scotland at the championships in Edinburgh on November 2.

A spokesman for the club said: “We are very proud of the achievement for both boys, who started karate in 2016 at a young age and have trained very hard over the years.

“They have achieved this success through commitment, dedication and hard work under the watchful eye of instructors and coaches Michael Exley and Stephen Cress.

“Finlay and Jamie always give 100% in training and are a pleasure to teach.

“Everyone at the club wishes them all the very best in the competition.”

Berwick Bu Bujin Karate Club was founded in the 1980s and meets every Monday and Wednesday at Berwick Sports & Leisure Centre. There are classes for all ages and abilities.
