Bronze for Leila in Glasgow
Alnwick Harriers athlete Leila Thompson competed at the weekend in the Scottish Indoor Championships at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.
In a strong field of 23 national standard athletes, Leila managed a fantastic throw of over 9m in the shot to take the bronze medal.
This was an outstanding result to add to her other recent high profile achievements and everyone at the club is proud of the progress she is making in the sport.
Only recently, Leila competed at the Northern Area Indoor Championships at Sheffield where she threw a new personal best distance of 9.35m, narrowly missing out on the gold medal by just 4cm.
