Athletics star Laura Weightman says she is ‘ready to go’ as she gears up for her Olympic debut.
The Lesbury runner will take her place in the heats of the women’s 1500m competition at the Olympic stadium in London at 11.45am tomorrow.
Laura will have to beat some of the world’s fastest runners to get through to the semi-finals on Wednesday, and then hopefully Friday’s final.
The 21-year-old, who has been at a training camp in Portugal with the rest of the Great Britain athletics team, said: “I am really pleased with how my final training sessions have gone out here.
“I feel ready to go now. I am really looking forward to competing.
“I am very excited to get out onto the track and compete in front of a home crowd.”
